Dear AISL Community, End of Semester 2021 Message from the Director Holiday Assembly On Friday we will celebrate the end of 2021 and the holidays with a whole school virtual assembly at 11.15 am. Here is the link. Hope you can join us. Holiday Hampers for our Support Staff A strong tradition at AISL is for our learners to be a part of preparing a holiday hamper at this time of the year for all our support staff . We created 110 hampers and delivered them on Wednesday. This is a great school initiative and a way to say thank you and give back to those who make sure our days go smoothly. Thank you especially to Trevor Mrak for coordinating this. A job well done! To Consider…If you have time over the Holidays This week the TedEx by Julie Lythcott-Haines How to Raise Successful Kids came to my attention. It is an interesting take on how we raise our children and worthy of a listen. A Poem To Ponder Instructions for the Journey The self you leave behind is only a skin you have outgrown. Don’t grieve for it. Look to the wet, raw, unfinished self, the one you are becoming. The world, too, sheds its skin: politicians, cataclysms, ordinary days. It’s easy to lose this tenderly unfolding moment. Look for it as if it were the first green blade after a long winter. Listen for it as if it were the first clear tone in a place where dawn is heralded by bells. Happy Holidays!
With kind regards, Dr. Oli Tooher-Hancock Director American International School of Lusaka Comments are closed.
