What I’m excited about this week…
ISSEA Basketball is here! After an energetic opening ceremony this morning, our teams took to the courts for the 2019 ISSEA Basketball tournament. I am thrilled to report that the Leopards won their first two games (Boys vs. AISM and then Girls vs. IST). We would love to have as many parents and students as possible coming to the games to cheer on our Leopards as we go for the gold! A cheering crowd can really make a difference to our players – and is definitely a home court advantage. You can link to the games schedule, photos, and live streams at www.isseafrica.com/basketball. Please come enjoy some basketball! AMIS Choir Festival! Next week some of our singers will be traveling to Johannesburg for the second annual Association of Music in International Schools (AMIS) African Middle School Honor Mixed Choir Festival. You may remember that AISL hosted the AMIS Festival last year, which was its first time in Africa. I am honored to announce that our own Dee Hausman has been selected to serve as the Festival Conductor. Congratulations to Ms. Hausman and our MS Honor Choir. 100th Day of School! Next Thursday, the Primary School will mark the 100th day of school with loads of fun “100”-based activities and some tasty treats. Many thanks to the PTA for always helping to support our 100th Day celebration.
