Secondary Office Hours
This is just a reminder to parents. The Secondary Office is open from 7:15‐16:00 on Monday through Thursdays, and 7:15‐14:30 on Fridays.

Author Visit
This past week we were lucky to have author John Coy on campus working with our secondary students. Since John is a young adult sports fiction specialist, he not only worked on story writing with our kids, but also worked with them in Physical Education classes. We appreciate the great learning experiences John led during his week with us on campus. A special thanks goes to our librarian, Terry Maguire, for arranging the visit.

Parent Coffee Morning
The next parent coffee morning will be held on Tuesday, February 21 in the Protea Room. The Student Support Services team will hold a session entitled “Secondary SSS Executive Functioning Skill Development in the Home”. We look forward to seeing you there.

Teacher Professional Development Day
There will be no school for students on February 20. Teachers will be engaged in a full day of professional development and curriculum update and revision.

Parent Resource
As the final IB exams rapidly approach, I have been thinking about the often conflicting message that we send to our students. We often tell them that it is most important for them to develop into a good person while sending a very conflicting message by focusing so much time and energy solely on academics. As I continue to read The Parents We Meant to Be: How Well‐Intentioned Adults Undermine Children’s Moral and Emotional Development, by Harvard professor Richard Weissbourd, I came upon this excerpt that I thought was interesting and was not only pertinent to parents but us educators as well.
