G3 Performing Arts Assembly!

​At AISL, we believe that exposure to and experience with the arts opens doors to learning.  Through a continual process of action and reflection, the arts prompt questions about life, develop innovative thinkers, and promote the creative use of technologies in a multifaceted world. The active process of making and appreciating art is gratifying and lays a foundation for future creations.  Reflection on and evaluation of their own work and others is another vital part of this process. It encourages students to take intellectual risks that in turn sparks the creative cycle to begin again.

Congratulations to the Grade 3 students and teachers who demonstrated their skills in the Performing Arts assembly last week. They choreographed original dances, wrote original plays and sang a beautiful song with flair and confidence. In their inquiry unit about “Sharing the Planet,” students learned that water is a finite resource and is essential to life through performing arts, visual arts, language, mathematics, science and social studies. This unit demonstrated the transdisciplinary approach we take at AISL. The playful, yet thoughtful, performance by the third graders reminded us that we all need to protect our water sources and use water responsibly. They inspired us with great suggestions on how
we can be conscientious, environmental stewards. ​
