ISAZ Cultural Festival

What an exciting week!

On Monday, six of our private lesson students participated in the Solo Instrumental and Vocal "Eisteddfod" adjudications at LICS, gaining helpful feedback and a positive performance experience as the ISAZ Cultural Festival kicked off.

The AISL Bands (Grade 6 Band, Grade 7/8 Band, and Grade 9/10 Jazz Band) participated in their section of the "Eisteddfods" on Tuesday May 7, when our school also hosted the event in our beautiful Tiyende Pamodzi Theater.  Five different schools brought a wide variety instrumental ensembles ranging from jazz, orchestral, rock, and wind ensembles, all receiving positive feedback from adjudicators and audiences alike.  The event was a great preparation for our upcoming AISL Band Concert (May 29).

The MS Combined Choirs (Grades 6-8) and the MS Honor Choir took to the LICS stage as part of the multi-school ISAZ Choral event, on Thursday, May 9.  Like the bands and solos, this event was also linked to the exciting Lusaka Arts Festival and included an opportunity for feedback from "Eisteddfod" adjudicators.  The performance was a positive learning experience for our vocal ensembles!  The singers have reflected that they are proud of their ability to effectively and appropriately express a range of styles with musical complexity, and have benefited from the marked progress made toward next week's AISL Choir Concert, "Music Moves Us" (May 22).

The AISL Tiyende Pamodzi Gallery featured an amazing display of work from our hard-working primary and secondary students.  Four works from our students were chosen to be displayed at the Lusaka Arts Festival's Arts Meander last week.
