Technology has transformed the way we communicate, the way we foster community, and even some ways we celebrate. Here's a quick review of how Facebook, Live Streaming, and the new ISSEA Website helped to keep our friends and family close last week, as our delegates to the ISSEA Band & Choir Festival were making music in Harare... click the links below to enjoy each post again... Feb 20 - Team Departure photos (pictured here) were posted on the AISL Facebook Page. The most delegates AISL has ever sent to ISSEA Band & Choir, yet! Feb 21 - A link to the official ISSEA Band & Choir 2018-2019 Facebook Page was posted, with the encouragement to "like" the page to receive automatic notifications to your own Facebook account. Feb 21 - A few photos summarizing the opening ceremonies and rehearsals on Day 1 were shared in this Facebook post (open to non-Facebook users). Feb 22 - A photo slideshow of Day 2 was shared, explaining "Day 2 at the ISSEA Band and Choir Festival is filled with more music, rehearsals and sectionals. It is so amazing to see students from all eight ISSEA schools come together to prepare this challenging music for the big concert tomorrow night." Feb 22 - Our AISL Gr 9 Vocal Trio was selected to represent us at the Friday Showcase Concert, as a result of their adjudication feedback. Bravo, ladies! We posted a photo of this performance because singing three part harmony - with only three people - is no simple matter! (We wish we could have shown the standing ovation you received, too! Fantastic!) Feb 23 - A video clip of the choir's dress rehearsal was shared. (song: "Something Inside So Strong") Feb 23 - A pre-concert reminder of the Live Stream Link was posted, after already being sent via email to parents of delegates, and posted on the ISSEA Band & Choir Facebook Page and Website. Did you miss the Live Stream? It's still located at the original youtube link! Be sure to watch out for Cassidy's trumpet solo in the band - what a fabulous performance and honor! Feb 23 - Photos of the choir and band were posted mid-concert to share the moment, and again make that live stream link easy to click! And of course, at the end of the concert, enjoying the audience's warm standing ovation, a Finale Photo to wrap up and celebrate the peak event. "Congratulations to the students from all eight ISSEA schools who performed magnificently as one amazing ensemble. Their hard work, dedication and cooperation were all on display tonight. Hats off to our friends at the Harare International School for the amazing job they did of hosting us all!" Thank you for sharing and celebrating with us! We look forward to involving our community in this event again soon, as we prepare to host ISSEA Band & Choir Feb 20, 2020 @AISL!
