Just our usual awesomeness in the Creative Arts...

What goes on in those Creative Arts classrooms every day?  Just our usual awesomeness!  Here are some MYP Drama and Visual Art snapshots:

In Drama...
"I suppose that's one of the ironies of life....doing the wrong thing at the right moment."
- Charlie Chaplin
6th Grade drama class has begun work on the creation of their superhero radioshow.

Grade 7/8 drama is learning how to effectively write and perform physical comedy set-ups, and will soon begin storyboarding for their mini-Charlie Chaplin movies.
In Visual Art...
Grade 7/8 are creating self portraits inspired by POP artist Roy Lichtenstein.
"Pop Art looks out into the world. It doesn't look like a painting of something, it looks like the thing itself."
- Roy Lichtenstein
Grade 9 have begun painting fairytale images in the primary library.  See photos of their process!
“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
- G. K. Chesterton
Grade 10 have researched a social commentary issue they feel passionate about and are creating a text artwork inspired by book covers.
"I wanted to start a revolution, using art to build the sort of society I myself envisioned."
- Yayoi Kusama
