Meet the AISL Basketball Coaches

We would like to introduce the faces behind our amazing AISL sports teams. 
This week it's our Basketball Coaches - read below to find out more..

Name: Michael Ryan
Home Town: Colorado, USA
Years at AISL : 6
Coach/Player History: Michael has played basketball since Kindergarten and has coached basketball for over 20 years. He has worked in 2 other ISSEA schools including ICS where he won the ISSEA boys championship in 2012. He has been coaching the U16 & U19 boys at AISL for the past 6 years and will be greatly missed as he will be heading to work at AES in New Delhi.

Name: Simukwela Lubinda
​Home Town: Lusaka, Zambia
Years at AISL : 12
Coach/Player History: Sims has played professional basketball in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. He is the current National basketball captain and has held this title since 2016. Before coming to AISL, Sims coached at Kabulonga Girls, Roma Girls and also coached the Lusaka Select Provincial team and he is one of the few AISL coaches that has won 2 ISSEA championships!

Name: Bridget McCall
Home Town: Christchurch, New Zealand
Years at AISL : 2
Coach/Player History: Bridget coached junior basketball as a senior and when she started teaching, she introduced basketball at her first school of teaching and entered the first team into the local competition in New Zealand. She played basketball all through high school and was part of the only female team in the school.

Name: Sylvester Ntumba
Home Town: Lusaka, Zambia
Years at AISL : 7
Coach/Player History: Sylvester has a background in both tennis and basketball.  In tennis, he has coached the zone 6 tennis team, and the Zambia U18 team. In basketball, he played for NAPSA B and he coached Matero Magic. He is the current Zambia Tennis Association Jr. Coordinator and also the co-founder of Serving Zambia Tennis.
