Multi-Age Learning Focused on the Writing Process: Ms. Nevers' Gr7 Visual Arts Students & Gr1 Mr. Matt's Students
Ms. Nevers' Grade 7 Visual Arts students have been creating humorous picture books for young readers. In order to develop their text and images, they buddied up with students from Mr. Matt's Grade 1 class to solicit feedback on their drafts. The Grade 1 students provided excellent suggestions with regard to which parts they found funniest, places where the stories were a little hard to follow, and which pictures were particularly effective or others that needed development. It was a valuable learning experience for all of our writers and further illustrated the point that all writers use feedback to strengthen their messages.
The Leopard's Tale is our main medium to keep our families informed on such things as the day to day happenings on campus, after school activities, summaries of any arts and sports events, helpful resources, and important dates and reminders.
