AISL is excited to be supporting nine Multilingual (Mother Tongue) programs. Currently the parent community has an already established Dutch and Swedish program. Elisa Ingles Velasco, our Multilingual coordinator, has begun connecting with families of the Italian, Afrikaans, Mandarin, Portuguese, German, Spanish and Hebrew communities. If you would like further information about these programs, please contact Elisa on eingles@aislusaka.org.
Additionally we would like to support the development of Zambian languages. Multilingual (mother tongue) programs are parent-run, where parents work alongside embassies and associations/diplomatic missions to coordinate multilingual (mother-tongue) lessons. AISL will provide a suggested language development progression, classroom space (if needed), and Modern Language standards to guide language instructors. These instructors are employed and compensated by the parents of the students involved in the program. If you would be interested in finding out more about a Zambian Multilingual program please complete the survey below.
