Parent Resource

There are times when exasperated parents show up in my of`ice. They are at wits end with their teenager and simply do not know how to proceed. While this feeling is completely normal and occurs in 99.9% of parents of adolescents at some point in time, the best way to minimize these feelings is to be understanding of teenagers and what they are going through. Adolescence is a wholly unique time in human development. However, if one is unable to understand the changes, mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally, that kids are going through, it can be quite perplexing and frustrating to an outsider. As parents, it is our role to learn about this developmental period and guide our kiddos appropriately through it. Therefore, I consistently ask parents to study-°©‐up on their child. I recommend two websites that are great resources to learn more about adolescent development. These are very comprehensive and from reputable sources. I encourage you to take time to look through these and learn more about our wonderful kids.
