Stay Informed: Leopard's Tale, Parent Mornings, and Open Houses

We provide numerous opportunities to learn about AISL. The best sources are the weekly Leopard’s Tale newsletter, the website, informational parent mornings, and the upcoming Open Day in the Primary School and Open House night in the Secondary School. We work very hard to provide a lot of information about the school because we want our parents to understand and appreciate the very wide range of programs we offer. We are proud of our programs and want you to learn more so you can be equally proud that you have made the decision to join the AISL community. Please dedicate a few minutes each week to learning more about AISL. It is a great way to remain involved in your son or daughter’s education.

First and foremost, please get into the habit of reading our weekly Leopard’s Tale newsletter. It is the authoritative source for up-to-date information about our programs and upcoming events. A significant amount of time and energy is dedicated to publishing it each week so please ensure that you take advantage of this rich resource. We try to avoid cluttering your inbox with a lot of emails and prefer instead to use this one consolidated source.

Second, Tuesday mornings are Parent Mornings at AISL. Please get into the habit of sticking around after drop off on Tuesday mornings to learn more about the school. To help all parents understand the many facets of our school, we offer an ongoing series of informational sessions on Tuesday mornings from 07:30-08:30. If you can, please plan to join us for a coffee or tea and learn more about AISL. One Tuesday morning per month will be dedicated to the PTA’s monthly meeting. All of these sessions take place in the Protea Tree Conference Room unless otherwise noted. Here are some upcoming sessions:
  • August 15 – Introduction to the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) for Grades ELC-5
  • August 22 – Introduction to the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) for Grades 6-10
  • August 29 – Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting for all parents
  • September 5 – Introduction to the IB Diploma Program (DP) for Grades 11-12
  • September 12 – Child Protection at AISL for all parents

Finally, please make an effort to attend the upcoming Open Day/Open House events in the Primary School and Secondary School, respectively. These events will provide you with an overview of our academic programs and then the chance to meet our teachers. Watch the school-specific sections of the Leopard’s Tale for more details.

  • Wednesday, August 23: Primary School Open Day from 07:25-12:20
  • Thursday, August 31: Secondary School Open House from 17:00-20:00
