AISL's National Honor Society is managing a clothing drive to support the survivors of Cyclone Idai, which devastated coastal Mozambique and affected 1.89 million people earlier this month. If you would like to support the survivors of this disaster, please donate new or gently used t-shirts, shorts, underwear, and flip-flops. Cash donations and suitcase donations are also appreciated and needed. Clothing donations can be accepted in the Secondary Office until April 8. Suitcases and bags can be dropped off in the Secondary Office. Cash donations can be delivered to Ms. Seiler (Secondary Assistant Principal) or Mr. Potter (teacher and NHS advisor). On April 9, the National Honor Society members and anyone happy to volunteer will sort the clothing into suitcases, which ISSEA student-athletes from our school will bring to the ISSEA tournaments on April 10. The ISSEA athletes will use the "ISSEA Express," which is what we call it when students from one school pass items to other schools. The teams traveling to Nairobi for football, to South Africa for golf, to Uganda for tennis, and to Tanzania for STEM, will be asked to bring an extra suitcase if space allows. Then they'll pass the donated items and suitcases to athletes from the American International School of Mozambique. The student leaders at AISM will ensure that the donated items go to Kits4Kids in Mozambique. Please be part of this initiative and help us create clothing-and-shoe kits for as many people in need as possible. For more information, contact Mr. Tom Potter at [email protected] or Ms. Seiler at [email protected].
