Athletic team member responsibilities

  • All students who are members of an AISL athletic team are expected to be positive role models and are expected to conduct themselves in such a manner as to reflect credit on themselves, AISL and the school community. Appropriate language, respectful behaviour and responsibility must be reflected in all the students actions
  • All students must be in good academic and behaviour standing. A student who has any effort grades of 1 or 2 in any subject will be ineligible to participate in school sports trips
  • Students must understand and follow school policies and team rules
  • Students must be on time for practices, activities and games
  • To be a member of an ISSEA team, students must attend 3 to 4 practice sessions per week to be eligible to be on the team
  • Students must be committed for the season or the duration of the activity
  • Students should be coachable (listening skills, focus, enthusiastic, giving 100%) 
  • Students must treat all involved in the sport with respect, including teammates, opposing team players, coaches, referees, and spectators
  • Students should trust the coaches’ or advisors’ experience, knowledge and ability to make tough decisions in the best interest of the student and the team 
  • Students need to give proper notice of absence directly to their coaches
  • Students are expected to welcome and host visiting athletes
  • This is a requirement for participation on an ISSEA team
