AISL presented an amazing celebration of Creative Arts last week. Through three fantastic evenings, our talented students and community showcased our growing programs at a new level in the Tiyende Pamodzi Theater.

On Tuesday night, our theater came alive with song as over 100 vocalists from AISL Primary, Secondary, and Adult choirs presented an amazing concert exploring the power of words in song.  We also celebrated the opening of the MYP Visual Arts Exhibition in the gallery, which explored similar ideas through powerful units at each grade level.

Friday night was the dynamic culminating performance of the Umoya Band Festival.  This event brought together middle school students from Lusaka and South Africa under the direction of a guest conductor and clinicians to work to improve their musicianship. We were also proud to present the hard work of the 6th-grade band and secondary jazz bands

Saturday night was a special evening, the very first “Pamodzi Experience” showcasing some of Zambia’s best performers ranging from the high energy dancing of “Ma Africa” to the vocal artistry of performers like Zamba Anamela and James Sakala.  We were especially proud of our very own Ishaan Desai, Roarke Mcdonald and Jonathan Peck performing on stage with these artists and showing their own amazing talents.

Special thanks to everyone who came out to support all of these amazing performances.  We hope you were as inspired and proud as we were!
