Weekly Update from Primary

8/9/2020

Building our community...

Picture
Each Friday, our students and teachers continue to look forward to coming together for our Primary Assembly for Learning and Sharing (PALS). This past Friday, 98 students joined our Primary teachers to welcome two new leopards to our school community, hear 'small moment' stories from Grade 1, watch dance movement routines from Kindergarten PE, learn about color theory, and listen to creative writing pieces from Grade 5. We look forward to many more fun Fridays ahead of us.

Virtual Talent Show: coming soon

Picture
A number of our Primary students are busy polishing their talent show acts in time for the launch of our virtual talent show on Friday, 18 September. We will come together as a Primary community at 12:00 so that Ms Elisa and Ms Natalie can introduce the show. Students will then have access to a link where they can view the different performances and leave congratulatory messages for the students. Our teachers will be watching the show from the theater during that same time. We are looking forward to our annual Talent Show although in a slightly different format this year.

Spotlight on Students: G3 Mathematicians

This past week, our Grade 3 students have been continuing their critical thinking in math, focusing on a range of concepts from number knowledge to shapes. Below are a few examples of some of the areas they have explored.
Finally, thank you for all of the families that have provided feedback for us to reflect upon by completing our survey. If you have not had a chance to fill it in yet, please do so as we would love to hear from you.

Until next week,
Darlene Huson, Primary Principal
Christine Kelly, Primary Assistant Principal/PYP Coordinator
Tony Potts, Primary Assistant Principal/Tech Integration Specialist
