Distance learning is fully underway with our normal class, Advisory, and assembly schedule. Our students have been joining us for real-time lessons (Path 2) or completing the learning activities on their own and having weekly check-ins with their teachers (Path 3). This past Tuesday 11 August, we hosted a Parent Information Evening on the topic of distance learning. We supported parents in understanding how to navigate ManageBac, that the Landing Pages on the Student Portal have lesson materials and links to the Google Meets classes, and what to do when they need technological support. You can find a copy of that video recording here. Just a reminder that our Support page for distance learning is here. Parent Information Evening for Grades 7, 9, and 12 Parents This coming Tuesday 18 August, we will host a Parent Information Evening at 17:00 on the campus health and safety measures for Grades 7, 9, and 12, as we are on track to open the campus to those grades on Thursday 20 August. You can join that meeting by clicking here. There will also be a general parent information session about our reopening plans for all families hosted by Dr. Menard on Monday 17 August at 18:00. You can join that session by clicking here. Open Night After the Parent Information Evening, we will host our Open Night for Secondary families from 17:30-20:00 on Tuesday 18 August. During that meeting, you’ll receive instructions on how to navigate a virtual Open Night, then follow your child’s schedule to the Google Meets “classrooms” to meet your child’s teachers. Your child’s teachers will introduce themselves, give an overview of their class, let you know the expectations for students in their class, and help you know what to expect regarding teaching and learning in their class. You can join us on Open Night by clicking this link at 17:30 on Tuesday 18 August. Feedback and communication
Thank you for helping us make sure that every student thrives. Your feedback and communication help us to make sure that your child manages the challenges of distance learning. Please contact us with any questions or feedback you might have. Thank you for all your support at home. Kind regards, Dr. Rick Odum, Secondary Principal Dr. Sheila Seiler, Secondary Assistant Principal Comments are closed.
