Advisory
The secondary staff are really excited about the new advisory program which embodies the IB mission statement: The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. We are getting to know our advisees and exploring fun and meaningful ideas and activities in order to grow IB learners. Grade 10 Personal Project I hope Grade 10 have been having a great time pursuing their passions in the form of Personal Project over the break. They will be meeting with their supervisors in the next week or two and finalising goals. Some students have been reassigned new supervisors. Obviously this had to happen with teachers leaving and I am confident that there will be minimal disruption. Contact me If you would like to meet with me about anything concerning the MYP program, please email me [email protected] or pop in – I might be in my office which is in the new secondary office area. When I am not teaching Language and Literature, I am in advisory or in classrooms collaborating. But Mache will always know where I am. I look forward to meeting parents at the MYP information session on the 4 September! Ingrid Turner
