Well Done Torpedoes

Way to go Torpedoes on claiming one back  from the new League champions; Simba  Seals, in there own back yard. Fourth League  was one to remember, with all that pride on  the line; winning hasn’t felt so good It was  clear to all that everyone stepped up and  swum their hearts out, with one common  goal of bettering themselves.

We welcomed the determination and individual points of the new kids on the block namely,  Jack Zeravika, Wouter Vondeling, Joris Vondeling , Annice Bellows, and Lena Frederick; whom now have one meet under their belts. Harry and Olivia keep training smart, as your moment to shine will come.
As we look forward to what’s in store for these new swimmers we also must say goodbye and thank you to Austin Prince and Tom Donker. Stalwarts of our team, unwavering in their attempts to be the men they believe they are meant to be. We will always be grateful and you will be remembered, for sharing your journey with us. Going out on a winning note epitomizes who you both are!

Lets put our hands together for our PB Queens Emma Wassink again and Fleur Donker with 8 lifetime best swims out of the maximum 8 allowed. AnnaSClara Azzoni continued to make her mark on the Zambian swimming scene with 7 pb’s. With 6 personal bests and some highly exciting racing were Megan Lillie, Victoria Cowles, Johanna Buys, Keira Mott, Namara O’Connell, Jade Phiri and Christina Smit. Molly Rathbone and Rosie Wassink were splendid with 4 pb’s. Swimming sturdy with 3 was Rhona Harrison and Mia Phiri. Cerys Lillie, Teyah Phiri and Elisabeth Buys where rousing with 2 pb’s. Our youngest member Musenge Chungu took on the challenge of new swim and still came away with one personal best.

Hats off also to our PB Kings Ashutosh Chatterjee and Andrea van Vlaanderen who were both resolute and robust in their efforts; with 8 lifetime best swims, out of the 8 swims on offer. Michael Lillie was commanding with 7 pb’s. With 6 personal bests was; Nkhosi Coombs, Tom Donker, and Naested Smit.  Naveh Mor improved on all 5 of his previous swims and passionately took on the challenge of two new swims.  Adam Bosse, Tyler Prince and Austin Prince were all highly entertaining in their racing with 4 pb’s. Giuliano Lastroni was resilient in his swims with 3 pb’s.

We must not forget to accolade our national record breakers accordingly as they lit up the pool; Well Done!! Mia Phiri, Fleur Donker, Johanna Buys as well as Michael Lillie, Tyler Prince, Adam Bosse, Naested Smit and Tom Donker. Keep raising the bar.

Let’s use our success and disappointment from this season to brave the uncomfortable and do what we have never done before, as we seek to be more mentally tough, before National Age Group Championships. Stop over thinking things… and be tougher.
