Did you know that as part of the comprehensive review of our mission and vision last year, we identified a set of core values that we strive to foster at AISL?
They are:
Which one/ones do you think relate to this picture taken at the ISAZ U14 Girls Soccer Finals at ISL last weekend? What I’m excited about this week…
Design, and the resultant development of new technologies, has given rise to profound changes in society, transforming how we access and process information, adapt our environment, communicate with others, solve problems, work and live. MYP Design challenges students to apply practical and creative-thinking skills to solve design problems; encourages students to explore the role of design in historical and contemporary contexts; and raises students’ awareness of their responsibilities when making design decisions and taking action. Please come and see a presentation and samples of the unique work that has been done in Design class this year. We hope to see you in the Protea Room on Tuesday 10 April beginning at 7:30. As students from Grade 5-12 bring home devices over the break, we expect the students to continue to be responsible, balanced users - with the help of mum & dad, of course! Here are some recommendations that have been shared with AISL parents through parent information sessions in the past that are relevant for this situation. For more information, resources, guidelines and advice, please visit this LibGuide (with the usual password!). Be the Parent:Ultimately you are in charge; you make the decisions and you set the boundaries - you should expect your child to behave the same online & offline e.g. you would not want your child to talk to a stranger on the street; therefore, he or she should not engage with strangers online.
**Please also note that, as per the signed Acceptable Use Policy, devices are not allowed to be taken out of the country for insurance reasons**
Thursday, 29 March is our final school day this week before we begin our April holiday. We would like to wish all of our families a safe and restful break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, 9 April. We will also have a few more students joining us across the Primary school when we return. We would like to remind everyone that the next round of After School Activities will begin on Wednesday, 18 April so please watch for more information regarding sign-ups for activities. Until then, students from KG-G5 are to be picked up at 14:30 Monday-Thursday and 12:30 on Friday. Enjoy your break! Thank you to all of the families who came to support our Kindergarten students during this week's Celebration of Learning as they shared the important work they did as part of their unit of inquiry, 'Where we are in place and time'. They were very proud to share their research and artwork with each of you. Below are a few photos from Tuesday morning.
